Christmas Stream from Studio City Sound

The sweet people over at Studio City Sound and Adrianne Duncan invited me to join their Christmas show again this year. You can stream it on YouTube! You’ll hear versions of the two Christmas songs I wrote quite a while back — one even played on ukulele. The studio is a family run place, and it couldn’t be warmer or friendlier. You’ll see the whole family — who were a band à la the Partridge family, that I actually saw when I was a kid growing up in Irvine at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. The youngest of the bunch, Michael Damien, went on to be a TV star and had a hit single with a remake of “Rock On.” But, Mama Weir is the real star of the show!

I hope you enjoy it! (You can find me 42 minutes in, at an hour and eight minutes in, and an hour and 25 minutes. And if you tried to click the link from my email blast, they updated it right after I sent it!)

A Big Picture (Come By Here) At Studio City Sound

Never too late… Here’s a recording of my song “A Big Picture” from mMix performed with the a cappella improv group, Fish to Birds. There’s a little story if you scroll back about a minute (to 1h45m53s), but I thought starting with music was best. Happy New Year!

Daydream on the Seine

We arrived in Paris on September 1, just a few days after the church bells rang out across the world to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the March on Washington. (more…)

Magic Trumps Reason @ Indelible Ink

I think it’s a good sign when all you can hear are the distant restaurant murmurs and the clanking of knives. (They do get louder in the instrumental section, though….) I really enjoy the Indelible Ink shows. My friend, Monica Lee Copeland, has done a good job of bringing a really diverse celebration of words to Pasadena.

"One Step" with Singa (updated)

Singa is the extremely talented seven-year-old son of my friend, Sanni. As you can see we’ve bonded! The first clip is from Germany while I was touring there. The family lives half the time in Los Angeles, too, so they got to come to my house concert this weekend in Santa Monica. Of course I had to have Singa sit in! (I also just added a clip from this weekend at Oshunmare.)

And a little drum solo in “Moment in the Sun.”

New Press and Videos

Hi! Just thought you might like to know about a couple additions to the site and other links.

I’ve added some press clippings from March, which you can find here: [cref 145 Jason Luckett Press].

I’ve also updated my YouTube channel, so it all makes a little more sense. Check it out here: Jason Luckett YouTube.

And here’s a new clip from last week at Kulak’s Woodshed:

I started working on a new video with Simko last weekend. Hopefully we’ll finish it up when I get back from Texas.

Hope to see you or your proxies in Texas over the next few days. [cref 2974 The Bugle Boy show is Saturday].
