Adrianne Duncan and I will be doing our first duo gig at Curve Line Space. Think of it as kind of a Swell Season sort of thing, though touching more of the jazz world — via France and Brazil — than their folk/rock. Some songs will be duo, some solo, most will be backed with Nick Mancini on vibes (or marimba). Hope you’ll be able to come out. We’re opening the show and Nick’s group will be closing. We’ll be back in Glendale at Left Coast this Saturday night for our monthly gathering of songs and surprises. If you’ve yet to check it out, you’re in for a treat. We never know who’ll show, but there’s always a transformational moment when the evening truly turns to magic. Please come early and make reservations, as it can get crowded. But even when it is crowded, we manage to ease you all into a groovy comfort.
We’ve had some amazing guests over the past year and this month will be extraordinary with William Galison joining us to play some of his original music and accompanying me a bit. William is known as one of the best chromatic harmonica players in the world today and has played with Sting, Donald Fagen, Carly Simon, Barbra Streisand and Jaco Pastorius to name a few. Last time I played with him, my smile almost lifted off my face and carried innocent bystanders into blissful orbit.
I aim to keep you in that blissful state for three sets on Saturday. I hope to see you then.
